Comments

Overall tightening market conditions due to stronger demand and logistics challenges from Asia, have resulted in significant lead-time increases which are accelerating fast. Heavily affected product areas are Tantalum, Polymer and electrolytic capacitors with lead times reaching up to one year by now. Supply on SMD resistors and MLCC is also tightening quickly.

Frequency control crystals/oscillators

Several MFRs are affected by a fire in the AKM factory (IC supplier) which results in much longer lead times and/or even obsolescence. Recovery plans have not been clarified yet. Possible ultimate impact to be confirmed.

Ceramic capacitors multilayer

Indicators suggest lead times on some specialty MLCCs may well increase towards the end of 2020 and into 2021. If you need to consider alternatives, read our article on polymer capacitors as a replacement for MLCCs

Inductors

Specific series, power and automotive are under capacity constraint. Overall we see extending lead times especially for automotive spec.

Relays & connectors

Very selective situation on our suppliers. Some parts are under capacity constraint affecting a few specific part series, especially for automotive.
